So apparently ISIS has directly threatened Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and has indirectly threatened all of his employees.

In your opinion, what implications does this have for people who work for social media companies and Americans in general?

Good for Twitter on shutting down the ISIS accounts. Like most ISIS threats in the homeland, it's kind of tough to tell how serious the threat is. If I were Dorsey, I'd be sure to have a strong security detail around me. And if I were Dorsey, I could afford it (with $2.7 billion!).

Until we see a real (confirmed) threat in CONUS, I don't take it terribly seriously. I do count the ISIS threat to folks in the US as semi-credible, but not imminent, because of the lack of "production" in regards to their threats. Now, if that changes, then my assessment of the validity of the threat will change, and fast.
