With that said, do you think crimes committed against SM should also be considered crimes against the government?

But we are "property" because we signed a contract signing ourselves over to whatever the government tells us to do. It's not a nice word to think about in regards to ourselves but essentially we are/were government property.

I think it would be a good idea. It would make it so that the government would be more accountable for the people that serve it. Also have the government pay more attention to what's going on with its people.

Crimes are alwasy considered torts against "The People of _____", not necessarily against the individual. That would include service members. That is why in criminal court, proceedings are always "The People of _______ vs. Criminal So and So".
