So I was one of the unlucky members notified by the Air Force on Wednesday that I have not been retained after meeting the Reduction in Force board this year (they cut a lot of people from my year group). If anyone knows of any open GS-1101 (preferably 12 or 13 level) acquisitions positions open at their base and has any details about the job, please let me know.
My top choice for employment once separated in April next year is to try to get into a GS position since that will not completely negate my 13 years of federal service I've already accumulated.

Matt,
If you are currently on Active Duty and being RIFed, then you will be eligible for a VRA (Veteran's Readjustment Appointment). Check with an HR Specialist in your local Civilian Personnel Office.

There were some available at Kirtland at AFRL.
You might try to get a reservist job as well. I have seen 62 and 63 cat B IMA positions on the volunteer reserve site on AF portal. Try USAJOBS has the positions at different bases.
