Sgt Kelli Mays. That is very illustrative of the low view Secretary Kerry has of the intelligence of the citizens of the United States of America. When Iranian leadership says death to Israel or death to America that precisely what they would like to do. They want to destroy our way of life since we are the Great Satan in their rhetoric and they want to kill as many of us as they can.
Their previous efforts to destroy Israel were interdicted - remember the Israeli bombing of Iran and the Stuxnet virus which crippled their Iranian launch capability.
There may be some hope that Kerry is thinking Iran is referring to the broader America from the Cape Horn through the Northernmost point of Greenland - he most likely believes that is too big an area for Iran to target and they would be confused with how to do it :-)

We are seeing US politicos at their very best of deflecting another nations true intentions and sure enough there will be many uninformed who live off sound bites believe it and come to the defense of Iran and the politicos.
Assuredly we live in a more dangerous time and place around the globe. We just gave one of the biggest bully's a bigger stick and our politicos want to offer some similar deal to N Korea.

Because of the history in IRAN....especially the history of never doing what they say...when it comes to agreements they've made...because of their hiding things and down right lying about them...and because they let the people chant, yell and shout "death to America/Americans" I tend to lean to "yes!" I do believe they mean it and they feel this way. I believe they only tolerated Kerry and everyone just so they can get their deal one way or another.
