I'm headed to Fort Drum in a few months. After researching quite a bit I was unable to find a whole lot on the LFS there. I did see that they offer a number of courses. Can anyone currently at Drum, or has recently left shed some light on this school and some of these courses. Thanks.

The purpose of the light fighter school is to get candidates ready for ranger school or other off post schools. It also host air assault when it comes through

Sir, it's a great institution that we have up here. It has a great variety of schools and preparations courses. if you want, hit me up on global. I can send you the most current schools listing with schedules. Air Assault is their high paying course which us their first class of the year start this past Friday. Besides that basic info once you in process Clark hall ( reception) will give a detail briefing on it.

You'll also get a whole brief from a rep at the LFS who'll tell you everything they offer. I inprocessed at Drum back in February - it's a very lengthy and informative couple of weeks.

Was a bit surprised to find nothing on line at the Division's website on this school other than a list of a few telephone numbers. Usually commands like this have a comprehensive website outlining and describing all their various schools and courses in detail, including syllabi instructors, gear requirements, etc. One can even go to the Ranger School website and find a complete list of subjects and back up information. At any rate good luck in researching what you will be getting into and sorry they are making it so difficult.

Agreed. I did find a little better source since with memos outling each course, but the 10th mountain page itself provides very little in the way of current information. Thanks for the interest
