Hi everyone, i am 30 years old and a year away from my associate degree. My dream is to become an army pilot, due to family issues i have to put my education and dream aside, but i see there is something call street to seat program. I talked to my local recruiters yesterday, one of them told me it is only for high school students, the other one told me that i gotta have pilot’s license. I need everyone expertise and guidance. What should i do? Thank you

I think you need to first enlist as something else.... I'd look for any job near aviation so that your mentor can be Army pilots. Then you can reenlist/apply to be a warrant.
It will take a few years. *But it will still be faster than gathering up a large sum of money to pay to a flight school, oh and competing with the 1000s of others dreaming of flying.

The recruiters are blowing you off because they can't place you as a pilot right away....

Think about it. These pilot schools cost tons of money, they aren't just going to turn you into a pilot and then you run off. Do a term and then you can do whatever you want.

Wrong. You can apply directly for a flight warrant officer MOS. No degree, no pilot's license required, no enlisted time.

Jamie Kwok, don't let anybody tell you you have to enlist first to become a flight warrant.

Thank you for replying. I am thinking about it since every local recruiter told me the same. I will try all the county in SoCal before i give in.

Send me a private message. I’m in aviation medicine...I can ask our pilots how to find a good recruiter for aviation.

Print this and show it to your recruiter. If s/he stills giving you the go around ask to talk with the station commander - the most senior recruiter at the office.

Thank you for replying, Sir. I told them that the army website showed me otherwise, then they suggested me to enlisted first, i would have a better chance with selection board, since my age is close to the age limit, they was not showing any interest in helping me so I will try other office in different county before i give up. Thanks again sir

You need to correct your name. We don't allow members to mask their identity by only using initials, especially civilian members of RP.

Speak with the senior ranking recruiter there. If they fail to clear it up then go next door, if applicable, to another branch and see what options they have. They should be anxious and pumped to get you in.
