Who besides me thinks it's stupid to have the rank on the chest on the ACUs? As far as I'm concerned, that's a sexual harassment complaint waiting to happen. "Oh no Ma'am, I wasn't trying to stare at your breasts, I was just trying to figure out if I need to salute you or not."

BLUF: Should the NCO rank be on the sleeve (like USAF) on the combat uniform? (and Class B)? I heard an interesting theory a couple weeks ago. NCOs are the "backbone" of the Army. (and the rest of the services). On the current ACU uniform as well as the Class B, you really have to be "right up on" someone in order to see the rank. I think rank placement fell victim to e question "Well what the f$@# else can we Velcro?". With some guy saying "oh the ranks!". Then the question came "How do we make this $#!++y uniform cheaper?", to which the same...person...answered "Well if we just use one rank, we can use half the amount of Velcro on that!" Then the man of many questions looked at this young ...person... and gave him a knuckled tap of approval saying "addaboy! Now where are we going to put just one rank insignia?" The...person... feeling a little sore in the sternum from the tap says while rubbing his chest "well...-" "PERFECT!!!" he was interrupted while getting knocked over by a pat on the shoulder. "Now, then marines took all the functional colors, let's look like gravel!" And so the ACU was born...

When rank moved to the Chest i was like what was wrong with the collar. It still seems weird to me but that may be because it transferred to that after i got out.

From what I understand, the new uniform will have an option for females that moves the rank higher towards the neck.
