Two things to remember, young fellow: 1 - never run on asphalt wearing boots unless ordered, and 2 - submit that WOT selection packet!

I wouldn't change a thing that would change the way the stars aligned for me ... I met my wife and had three beautiful daughters... Any changes or decisions or delays would have caused me to miss out on the final outcome of my life.... Life is a game of inches...

Escape the thrill of combat arms, go Air Force, and choose a path geared towards life beyond age 39. I enlisted at 6’ but was only 5’10.5” at retirement and had chronic kidney disease.

Under no circumstances should you marry your first wife. Stay clear of her and her entire family.

Three things: pay the damn $1200 for the GI Bill, don't mention your persistent back pain at re-enlistment time, or better yet - join ROTC in college before joining the military and busting ass in the enlisted ranks.

Back in 1991 I was told in boot camp that I had to pay in $1200 in order to use the Montgomery GI Bill. That was $100 a month in beer money, so I said nope.
