oops, just reread the original question ... mrs #1 happened in college before I ever thought about joining the military ..... well, then I'd say be more detailaholic in the paperwork process with the recruiter to make sure that accelerated E3 to E4 thanks to my bachelor degree was enshrined in the contract, cuz without it I was on the regular schedule with everyone else. READ EVERY WORD OF ANYTHING YOU ARE ASKED TO SIGN BEFORE YOU EVEN PICK UP THE PEN !!!

Don't change a thing. My Recruiter, SFC William Peters, in 1979, was honest and open with me. The ONLY thing I didn't like was being an MP at Ft. Lewis - 9th MP Co., Hoooaahh, was living at permanent party in an open bay. The only unit in the Division, I Corps, and Forscom to live in open bays. But as crappy as it was, it was also a great experience in its own right.
