Your medical unit will screw you over. Have you own copies of your records…AS THEY HAPPEN. In the Reserve, include your civ PCP appts for injuries. Why? Because your MIL duty will compound your injuries and the VA WILL deny everything.

Dump the high school sweetheart, she's enjoying "Jody's company" while you're away

If I could time travel back to the beginning of my military career, I would do more to further my education while in the Air Force, especially as it relates to my job qualifications to be more elegible for promotion.

I would learn to be a Jet Engine mechanic, Or. part of a flight crew.

Pay more attention to the small things.

I expected military medical to be generally altruistic. Found that to be the exception rather than the rule.
