Well since my dad was a lifer I had a good idea what the military was like. Especially at the place I did my perm. party. So for me there really is nothing military wise I would tell my younger self about the military. I was very well thought of by the military and civilian workers on post and in the community. I did my job very well in the military and even was in an apprenticeship program and got half way through that in two years and got a 2nd MOS and saved the place I worked Thousands of dollars on things we used and got us things we needed.
And I worked with kids in the community and the parents even asked me to start up clubs for their kids. Which I did. And got flown to training and put in for boards and put in charge of people.

When things got tough and I was having a hard time they made a way for me to get out, should have toughened up and stuck it out (could have been retiring next year).

I should have paid closer attention to early advice from a retired WW2 sfc. And " go with the flow"
