When you're in a strange new place you've never been in before, try to soak up all the culture and history you can from it. The experiences can make you well rounded and can do you good.

I would go a few months before my mom found out she had cancer so I could tell myself that we could treat it successfully without her going terminal. I would also tell myself to not smoke (a habit picked up in the military) because I'll need as much lung tissue as possible when COVID hits. I'd also give myself an almanac, back to the future style

Choose a better career choice instead of Food Service Specialist and stay Active Duty instead of switching to National Guard. The reason is because I struggled a lot financially and is still struggling to get a decent career and decent pay that I desire so I can be financially secured instead of barely making ends meet living paycheck to paycheck.
