I would have re-uped

Spend the $150 on the better running shoe

Go to law school earlier and remain with JAG

Never leave the service.

I would live my life with courage even thru fear and strive to always do the right thing.

Stay away from the hot blonde on the other side of the room. Next, when you are in Germany stay away from the blonde on the other side of your buddy at the bar. Wait for your soulmate. They are not it.

Listen to those old guys you were dismissive of. Many seasoned NCOs tried to talk down a rash younger me in the 80's and 90's. They warned of bad knees and back pain to be had from the things I was rushing into. I would still do them but with much more caution to delay that inevitable onset of old paratrooper arthritis.

Take advantage of extra training opportunities outside of specialty

If I could go back and tell myself one thing, it would be the watch out for those potholes while at BCT. It would have changed the trajectory of my life, I would have been able to keep slot at Jump School. I served my country and wouldn't change a thing, I wouldn't have married my beautiful wife, wouldn't have had three wonderful children and three of the cutest grandchildren this side of the Mason-Dixon.

Don't use credit except for a house or car.
