Looking at several ADOS tours. 3 locations in particular: Djibuti, Afghanistan and Houston, Texas. Which would you pick and why? I am looking at Afghanistan currently. Does that matter for promotion? Thanks everyone for your help. Looking forward to being back on the line full-time!

If you know of any ADOS tours at your unit, that would meet my qualifications, I am willing to move/mobilize.

All other things being equal, I would pick Houston. I'd rather be there than the other two. Much easier to have a life.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>Of course, all other things are not equal....&nbsp;</div><div>If you don't have a combat patch, I would go Afghanistan. I expect it will be a tie-breaker for promotions for at least several years to come. Without a crystal ball, this would be your best chance to "check that block" in the near future. Of course, you have to weigh that against the possibility of being shot at, either personally or in general.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Tax exclusion is nice, too. Wouldn't tip it for me, but it's definitely a factor.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>

Since you don't have a deployment and there is a draw down coming, and the fact that we are supposed to be otta Afgan by Dec. I'd take the afgan. Djibuti is a deployemnt no patch or combat time. And Houston is a combat tour just no perks. LOL just kidding I here Houston isn't a bad duty station.

@PFC Mullins, you can go to a website called TOUR OF DUTY. You need CaC reader to log in. There is a list of tours there. Some stateside and some deployed.
