Hello I am SSG Britt im with 168th Multifunctional Medical Battalion in CP Walker, Deagu, South Korea. I am the S-4 NCOIC im just look for advice and mentorship so that I can become a great NCOIC for my BN. I have been the NCOIC for about 11 months now and the job has not been easy but what job is really, it is only myself and my OIC who is fairly new he has only been the OIC for 3 months now and is soon to take Command of one of my unit Detachments in Jan. Basically I get overwhelmed with alot of the taskings handed down by BDE and Im also a PSG and the BN EOL some of you might say "WOW your NCOER is gonna be outstanding" very true but how do you deal with being a NCOIC of a daily basis and what are some tips that I can you to keep my head above water. thanks in advance have a blessed day.

SSG Britt, You have to plan, prioritize and delegate. I know from working with you in the past that you take on a lot of the taskings yourself. Look at everything on your plate. Prioritze based off of the commander's intent and make your plan from there. You are the PSG so you also have that platoon to direct and that platoon can also assist you in accomplishing the mission. You can use them effectively to assist in the taskings. If you need anything please write to me on outlook and we can talk this out.

Show enthusiasm with every task, even if you are screaming on the inside. False motivation is better than showing others how overwhelmed you may be. That's some of my best advise that was personally passed down to me from a great mentor.
