Refused to jump, again in 1987 after a parachute injury while in the 82nd. Compression injury which led to 35 plus years of pain and continued PTSD, 100% disabled due to incident. However stripped of Basic Airborne Badge as punishment for not jumping again. After 18 jumps in the 82nd and permanent life long damage, is there anyway to have my jump wings added to my DD214. Thanks for all of your help and opinions up front. J.R.

SSG Joseph Haggerty You're only chance as I see it is, if it was revoked erroneously, IOW not done according to policy and regulation. In which case you would make your case to The Army Board for Correction of Military Records https://arba.army.pentagon.mil/abcmr-overview.html

Read AR 600-8-22 chapter 1–32. Revocation of badges, Special Forces Tab, Ranger Tab, and Sapper Tab
https://armypubs.army.mil/epubs/DR_pubs/DR_a/pdf/web/ARN18147_R600_8_22_admin2_FINAL.pdf

Notice para 2 states: "A badge may be revoked based on the recommendation of the field commander (colonel (COL/O–6) or above)"
Was the request for revocation recommended by a commander 06 or above? If yes, you have no case for the board of corrections.

Notice para (e) states " Refuses an order to make a parachute jump and receives UCMJ regardless of how long a Soldier has served on airborne status"
Did you receive UCMJ for failing to jump? If yes, you have no case for the board of corrections.

If you still feel you need to push for the reinstatement of the special skill badge, seak a lawyers assitance who specilices in dealing with the board of miltary reccords corrections.

Thanks, it seems as I remember, in the 82nd if you would not jump, you lost your wings and was transferred. Never ordered to jump and “refused” per say. But was hurt and having nightmares and did not want to jump. So they sent me packing. Is there a place where I could look for the records to try and obtain a copy to further look into this?

SSG Joseph Haggerty - the 82nd being one to do what ever they wanted and just deal with the fall out after... it would not surprise me if they just told SM's "Take them things off your a leg now"
However, that's not how it really worked when I was there mid 90's.
In your case, it sounds more like a jump manifest was being done and you said you weren't jumping...If you were actually manifested and refused to draw your parachute, ..then you are a jump refusal. a very quick CDR's investigation should have been done, if no legitimate reason was found for your refusing to jump, you would have received an ART 15, and then BDE CDR would have signed off on revocation of your basic badge.

If you were under a doctors care for an injury, your profile should have stated no jumping, in which case there would have been no ART 15 (well no justified one anyway)

It al comes down to how the revocation was processed, did it follow the regulation or not.
If not, the board of corrections may reinstate the badge.

So if you never received UCMJ for failing to obey an order to conduct a jump, or the BDE CDR or higher never submitted the revocation request properly through HRC, Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate, Readiness, ABN TM to Commandant, U.S. Army Infantry School you may have a good justification for the board to act in your favor on.

I didn’t know they could take your jump wings after you completed jump school. I thought they could only take you off jump status. Well if they can take your pilot wings I guess they can take your jump wings.

How can I regain my Parachute Badge after it was stripped from me for refusing to jump again after a bad injury?

Thing is you still have a 1059 that records your completion of air borne school. That they cannot take away. So really all they did was take you off jump status and take away your chest pin. They can’t deny you were ever jump qual and on status.SSG Joseph Haggerty
