I reenlisted for Duty station of choice (Ft. Carson) back at the beginning of last year. My report date was supposed to be August 2017, but I was flagged for an investigation in June. The investigation exceeded my report date and due to a failure to put my orders on Hold (I'm not sure of the actual terminology), the assignment had to be deleted or I would have shown up as AWOL in the system. I was informed that once the investigation was finished I would have a chance to select a new assignment. My investigation came back as unfounded in November and my flag was lifted, but before I could even speak to my retention NCO I was already slotted for Korea. I'm trying to find out if there's anything I can do or if I'm being wronged in any way. I have tried explaining the situation to my branch manager and he has failed to email me back. I'm trying to figure out if there's anything I can do in this situation, or if I'm locked in on this for certain. Thanks in advance.

I would suggest looking at your contract again. I have known some soldiers who had it written in their reenlistment contract that if they did not get their duty station of choice as their next duty station, then they would have to get it before their contract was up.

You should have recourse if you handled timely. When you were read and advised of council, what was you decision? It. Was free and you should have used it knowing what was at stake. Dress warm until you have finality.
