I have a question about reenlistment and MACP.

I reenlisted in September of 2019 and requested Germany.
My wife and I were married in May of 2020
We both signed our 4187 for MACP.
We contact her Branch Manager and asked when she would be put on assignment to Germany as well. He informed us that because she is a first term Soldier, she would not be able to go to Germany unless she reenlists. Her window does not open until April of 2021. I'm supposed to report in September of 2020. Do you have any ideas or suggestions for us?

Just wanted to update on my situation.
I contacted my spouse Branch CSM and asked if anything could be done to allow my wife to accompany me to Germany. He stated there is an ETP for such an an occasion. He informed me that she would need to at least extend her contract in order to PCS. We're now just awaiting projected orders from her Branch Manager.

As well, I sent up a 4187 for deferment and was given a 90 day extension so that we may PCS together.

All in all, I was about to give up. Have my orders deleted and possibly kiss the opportunity of a lifetime goodbye. But, I was told to just keep asking questions and don't be intimidated to ask higher.
Germany here we come.

There is no guarantee she will be able to go to Germany.
You will need to delete your assignment. When she is eligible to reenlist she can request an assignment and they will move both of you. HRC might not be able to accommodate both of you to Germany.

SGT (Join to see) this is your only option. Your Career Counselor has something called the Message Book that addresses MACP enrollment after reenlistment. If her branch won't support the request, you'll have to delete your assignment or risk going to Germany and the very real possibility that there is no spot for her later

SFC (Join to see) SFC, do you think there is a possibility of deletion so close to my report date of September?

SGT (Join to see) because you requested this location through reenlistment you can delete it. There's no specific timeline, and you could even be past your report date and delete it. Now, if your branch manager placed you on the assignment, then you'd be shit out of luck

You are going to have to wait. MACP does not guarantee an assignment together, especially if she isn’t in her window to Re-enlist or at her SRR for the installation she is it.

So a deletion of my assignment would be the best option? At least until she is able to reenlist?

You are within 60 days of your report date, deletion is not going to happen, especially due to HRC backlog with covid. Unfortunately, you are going to have to deal with being separated for a little bit and you should know that with the MACP, they will try to get you to the same location, but it’s not a guarantee SGT (Join to see)
