It's a Navy vs. Marines tug of war on the TODAY Show Plaza!

Last week was Fleet Week in New York City, so TODAY decided to host a friendly game of tug of war between the Navy and Marines on the TODAY plaza.

Us SeaBees would have hooked that rope to a dozer and said pull.

I think that the Marines will pay dearly for this ignominious defeat.
PT will be an epic event.

Well if it was the entire Navy vs the entire Marine Corps, I would put my money on the Navy...this is even before considering the size of some of the Navy's chiefs? If is man for man, put my money on the Corps with the same exception for the Navy's chiefs...sorry there are some big boys in khaki?

"Station the sea and anchor detail. Man all lines fore and aft and standby to heave around. Ready... heave." Enough said lol Wish it could have been Army or Air Force. I think that would have been more epic instead of DoN vs. DoN personnel. Fleet weeks are awesome events. The only thing I hated is going out in my dress whites (we frequented the Portland Rose Festival).

GySgt (Join to see) that was the only part of Fleet Week acceptable for airing on the Today show. Everything else had to be put on really late at night.

Well done, All!! Meanwhile, I wonder how badly the Marines got bagged on after that... and consequently for the rest of their careers... Lol

They showed the Navy guys for a quick little minute. They looked significantly smaller than the Marines (especially that female!!). I was like, "oh this will be ugly"... WHAT?? Well done!! :)

That would be interesting to watch and/or be involved in. I am having a hard time deciding who I would want to win.

Semper Fi....I love Marines, unconditionally....Chesty Puller is my personal hero.....But ever since Man picked up a club to conquer, War, has been and will continue to be, a Tug-o-War between firepower, and innovation. Speed, and power, brains over brawn etc.....:) Now the entire World knows the reason why U.S. Marine paychecks are signed by Sec. of U.S. Navy, dude....
