with all the talk of martial law, I have to ask. (I apologize if it is a stupid question) since I have a service connected disability rating of 60% and am collecting disability compensation, if martial law is declared what are the chances, if any, of me being forceably recalled to duty? Would I be required? Is that something that can even be done if I'm not medically retired? I'm not saying its gonna happen, I'm not worried about it either way. Its just a "what if" kind of scenario.

Whatever news source you are watching please stop getting your news there. There will not be any martial law. General Miley himself does not want the military interfering with any political events. And the states calling the National Guard is not martial law. No one is going to call you back for anything. This actually frightens me that this is actually a question someone is considering.

All respect captain, but as I stated it only raised a question that I was posing. I don't believe it will be happening, I just wanted to ask the chances and probability of something like that taking place. (Something like being recalled at my rating)

PV2 Robert H. Ok, you don't have to worry about being recalled. I have had a few friends get recalled because they were in the IRR. If it ever comes down to the point they are recalling those who are medically disabled they're probably isn't much of an army left. The they would be calling the reserves, then the IRR, then the draft and then maybe they might try to recall those who have retired.

What talk of martial law? There's no official talk of Martial Law, the NG have been activated to guard the Capital during the inauguration.

iF martial law it would be done by the next president Biden or Harris and would be aimed at Trump supporters, my only concern would be to Protect My Family first and that should be Your only concern, you are no longer serving so Family First ! I think the question is silly but let’s break down to the essence of it.

So if there is a recall it would be those in IRR. When they first start screening IRR candidates they do a physical. If you are injured then break it up during the physical. Also, it depends on your RE code as well.

No, not a stupid question. So far only National Guard are being sent to DC and, supposedly, are under state orders but controlled by the Speaker of the House - which no one can really explain - You MAY be subject to recall BUT, the Army would have had to have gone thru it's supply of physically qualified soldiers in the active reserve. If you are separated and in the IRR you should have sent a copy of your disability rating to IRR per regs. If you are discharged you are not subject to recall. The current administration has frightened much of the American population with it's threats of unconstitutional action against citizens, government by Executive Order, threats of martial law, restriction of rights and the confusion regarding a "second oath" to a person or party. With little information being available from National Guard sources or congress your question is not stupid and your "what if..." has been raised by others.

Thank you sir, the insight is greatly appreciated. I am fully discharged, so I conclude based on your response that makes me ineligible for recall, correct?

To those on here who are jumping on me being a conspiracy theorist, saying I'm crazy. First off, so what if I am? But more importantly, you wonder why people don't ask questions.. you wonder why they don't contribute more to this platform? This is why. I'm a big boy, I can take a joke and even criticism. But as I've stated multiple times over, it was more a hypothetical question. A "WHAT IF" type scenario. To those on here who just plain and simple answered the question, or asked follow-up questions before assuming. I appreciate you're contribution. Thank you.

You need to quit listening to the left wing liberals on CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC andFox.
If the incoming POTUS tried to invoke maryial law, it would more than likely cause either another revolution or a civil war in this country. Even though yhere are members in congress that want to see President Yrump supporters rounded up and put into reeducation camps and those in the House and Senate that contested the electoral college results removed from office and charged with treason and sedition.

If you have a DD214 and you have no inactive reserve time to fulfill then the draft would have to be put into affect for you to be recalled to service. I'm not 100% sure of that so please research it yourself.
