I had recently brought up a MEB to my PCM after 7 almost 8 months of having bad headaches and every once and a while migraines. They have tried all the medication on me and only 1 medication works and it only works 40% of the time. I have gone through acupuncture and have got Botox injections into my head to help the headaches and nothing has worked. I've pin pointed the triggers as being Exercising, stress, and car or plane rides. I do not have a license because the military did not require me to have one prior to joining and I still do not have one. That being said I cannot get to my further away appointments by myself. There is NO cab service in the area. Hard to believe but it’s true, no Uber, Lyft, regular taxi or even a shuttle from one base to another. My leadership was helping me get to my appointments off base “which were maybe 2 times a month” but they stopped giving me rides “no government vehicle or anyone from the section I work with”. Them helping me out lasted about 2 ½ months. Ever since March I have not seen any specialty doctor for this. I do see MH on a regular though. Anyway I brought the MEB up my PCM and she told me that she thought it was good idea too because I am not getting any better and I can’t get to my appointments anymore. So she gave me a permanent 3 profile which referred me to the MEB and about a day or 2 later I got a call from the MEB doctor telling me to come in and talk to them over at another base about filling out initial paperwork. The next day they contacted my Command and told them I do not meet MDRP and it has been kicked back.. The only reason I brought up a MEB is because everyone excluding my command was telling me to fight for the MEB since my headaches and migraines and my MH problems started after a TBI I got while I was in Theater during a combatives class. Also since the doctors that I should be seeing regularly “TBI and Neurology” I can’t see them everyone was like “well you should just get a MEB then since you can’t get any more treatment”. All 3 doctors I seen “ 2 TBI and 1 Neurologist” I asked them is there any other treatments then the ones I am getting to get better or help me and they all said no and just suggested the same treatment they were already doing which wasn’t helping. I was on Temporary profile for headaches since November. The permanent profile they gave me recently looks like it was deleted and now I do not have a profile at all. They have determined that the cause of all this happened while doing the combatives overseas so that part has been taken care of. I just don’t understand why they pushed it back if there is nothing else I can do. My Command is trying to chapter me out right now via Chapter 18 which is 90% sure a Honorable discharge but again everyone says fight to get a MEB and it doesn’t seem like there is any other steps I can take to get a MEB for this now. If anyone has any guidance or recommendations please feel free to comment or connect with me and we can private message. Thank you!

HI, PV2 Shelley.
I know you're more concerned about the MEB right now, but have you seen a chiropractor about your headaches? You mentioned TBI, but it's worth investigating.

I have not. You think that could be connected?

PV2 Trenton Shelley - I had a lot of headaches a few years ago that I couldn't shake because my spinal cord looked like a question mark. Hard living, I suppose, and getting old. Not TBI, but seeing a chiropractor got rid of my headaches.
Contact your ombudsman on post. They work for the DoD, not the Army. The Ombudsman will review everything and tell you and your Command what the correct process is.
The worst that they will say is ... sorry.

Contacted a Ombudsman more then a week ago and have not heard a update since the 21st. Is this normal?

The Ombudsmen here want the Soldiers to be proactive. Go to the Ombudsman's office and talk to them face to face.

SSG (Join to see) - The Ombudsman they assigned me is 2 hours away... No Ombudsman on my base

Look at what MAJ Ballinger wrote. I believe he is intimately familiar with the MRDP.

PV2 (Anonymous) - A P3 in itself is grounds for an MEB. Some of the functional activities should be NO, thus needing a referral to IDES. (MEB)

SSG (Join to see) - Thats what it was. I was given a Permanent P-3 profile and it was approved and signed which then referred me to the MEB and now apparently I am not going to go through the MEB
