What a great American and Hero, like almost every MOH recipient humble and down to earth. What an amazing individual LT Jack Montgomery was and the people he touched along his life with out the heroics. It is always going to be the way you touch people in your life that will make the biggest impact on them and the world. Salutes, Thank you for your service and RIP warrior

A lieutenant with Oklahoma’s 45th Infantry Division during World War II, Montgomery was well-known for a battle in northern Italy, where he left his platoon behind the safety of a stone wall while he single-handedly stormed a row of German machine-gun nests. He killed 11 Nazis and captured 32 others, by himself, while dodging intense enemy fire.

And for that, he received the Medal of Honor.
