But given only those choices, 21 percent of the service members surveyed said they would abstain from voting.More than 54 percent of the 951 troops Military Times surveyed said they would vote for Trump, the presumed Republican presidential nominee, over Clinton, the Democratic front-runner. Only about 25 percent said they would vote for Clinton in that matchup.

21% would abstain from voting but will this number change by November?? I would think this would increase as the military learns more about Trump & Hillary. I think most of the military doesn't give a damn about either of these two candidates who are both weighted down with so much baggage

From my formations, I hear many say they won't vote. No one really likes Hillary. & Trump is a baboon. I wouldn't be surprised if this election is won based on some random grassroots in some random state giving a last minute push for one of these two...

And that is WRONG. Because the system does not work if ANYONE who can vote, fails to do so. My parents-in-law always said they wouldn't vote, never voted in their lives because they said "all politicians are crooks". And, well... I'm sure that not ALL of them are, but most are. Its our job to make sure the least offensive person gets the vote. And ideally, eventually to insist that only decent, qualified people get to run.

To me, if you don't vote, you have no business complaining about the government. You chose not to involve yourself with the decision.
