For those transitioning to the civilian side, I always recommend that you push "Hire Character. Train Skill."

As a hiring manager, I totally agree with the comment. I can train the technical skills. The key for me is to find candidates with the personality, character, and attitude.

Generally, and unfortunately, the job training is what we consider to be the content of resumes and such.  What I've found that employers look for more so is your experience dealing with people.  Unless you find yourself trying to get a job that is very duty specific, a lot of employers need people with people skills.  I've rarely gone into depth on the training I received, but rather limited it to a few words or a phrase.  Rather than saying "Ground combat training", I changed mine to "Security specialist."  More people friendly.  Not to mention, there are very few jobs with duties involving ground combat.
