Modern day OPSEC practices?

We all know what OPSEC is, but what newer practices, if any, have you incorporated with what you're hearing in the news lately? We recently had a member of our unit that found a note on his POV stating, "I will kill you." Reports were filed, but he and his family are terrified. Many of us in the service, especially recruiters, live and work away from military installations and sometimes in areas that do not support what we do as military servicemen and women.
