Ah yes, we've all seen them; "so, there you were" in a theater or a room full of service members or veterans, one minute everything's ok, then all of a sudden there it is... the over-the-top military movie discrepancy! So, what was that moment that stands out most in your mind? What are those associated memories or stories that come to mind? Did the base theater erupt into 'chaos' over an unkempt/incorrect uniform, improper language/jargon/ customs, or was there something that was just plain 'unsat' from a military point-of-view. lol Well, there's a ton of them out there, and I'm pretty sure that something should immediately come to mind, so what are we waiting for? Quick, pull up a keyboard, and let's get this thing started; thanks for all that you do, and... see you all in the discussion threads!

The movie, and the television series, we can't let this slip through the cracks.

In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The A-Team.

All the flics from WWII to the present that show Grunts going into combat (be they Soldiers, Marines, or any the now so popular Special Ops) with little more than a pistol belt, canteen, small pack, and two frags) and wiping out battalions of the enemy.

Basic. The ENTIRE MOVIE!!!! The only thing more ridiculous, than the premise, is Samuel L Jackson's uniforms! Especially wearing EVERY SINGLE badge, tab, and insignia, in the Army, on one BDU shirt, some of them, upside down!!!!!!!! I couldn't even finish the movie.....

The beard on the helicopter pilot Capt. Leland Gallo on the TV series Valor. Maybe I am wrong, but I don't think you can operate a modern helicopter pilot helmet properly if you wear a beard.

Almost every military movie, etc. has it's inaccuracies and just plain screw-ups in scripts, jargon, equipment and the list goes on.

One that stuck out for me was "Last Castle". How did James Gandolfini's character make Colonel with his fat butt?

Well, I'm going to have do some checking but I'm pretty sure it was one of the Iron Eagle movies or was it War Games,... anyway they had a female SSgt that was maybe 250 lbs at some control console. She was just an extra pulled from the extras pool I guess but what I really thought was funny about it was they clearly had to have her uniform custom made to fit her.

not too far fetched. when I was commander of an unnamed unit at an unnamed post, we had an unnamed female officer who looked like she was 8.99 months pregnant. she always managed to make tape because she had 15 chins and a 24 inch neck. lol
