Most memorable military "movie discrepancies"?
Yes! Iron Eagle II, this movie is the military movie buff's discrepancy dream! lol Good catch, how you caught this particular discrepancy without being distracted by any one of the thousands of other glaring inaccuracies, misrepresentations, and inconsistencies going-on-at-the-same-time is simply amazing! lol
In fact, all the Iron Eagle movies had glaring mistakes in them. And we all tend to miss them because of something else we catch like the acting being bad because of something they say.
This was the biggest errors of the Iron Eagle series. How about a 15 year old who teaches himself how to fly combat missions, steals a plane, and flies a rescue mission into Iraq...not as bad as Basic but still pretty up there.
The whole premise a kid is going to steal an F-16 with a full colonel as his wing man and they don't go to prison. Then in IE 2 the Colonel is a mechanic in an air museum. Yeah too many dramatic licenses taken in that movie.
Two things that will never happen, if you aren't up to quals and Flight Surgeon cleared, you don't fly, and once you are retired, you are out of active service.
or MORE stupid.
Rarely, very rarely (even allowing for the fact that the salute has evolved)
PO2 Kleeger, great catch, and no worries please feel free to bring on the wave of movie discrepancies, I'm sure that more than a few of us are entertained and interested! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qcb0w_R_Edo

Ah yes, sweet theme song and bad acting... good times indeed! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z93AADd2Dpo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MVonyVSQoM

Found it disturbing to watch Tom Cruise (Lt) behave disrespectfully toward Demi Moore (LtCmdr) in 'A Few Good Men'.
The TV series 'The Code" was a joke from start to finish.
The harbor shot of Pearl Harbor in the Affleck film seemed to show the raked bows of modern destroyers as opposed to what they looked like in 1941.
