DD214 have been revised many times since 1967, but the content of the form is still the same.
Why do I have this problem, any work a-rounds.

First, VA doesn't process home loans. You submit for COE, and the lender processes the loan once they have that. Block 4 is Component, Branch. Member is not a valid entry for this block. Yours should read something to the effect of US Navy or USNR

I think you can submit a DD215 for a correction of the DD214, the information won't change based on the documentation you have but they should issue you a modern copy. Why they won't accept an older copy I can't say other than idiot Civilians some times.
The DD Form 215 (Correction to DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) is used to correct errors or make additions to a DD Form 214, in order to assure that the Veteran has accurate discharge documentation.
That's the only thing I can think of, maybe someone else will have a better solution. Good luck sir, hope it all works out for you.
