VA disability claim. We received the VA SOC. We agree with it. Are we required to send in the form 9? Or are we basically done?

Sally, If your husband does not disagree with the VA Rating Decision he doesn't need to send back the Form 9. Look at the Instructions #3

Ok great I did see that but of course the way it was worded states "if you want to complete your appeal" if you do not the VA will close you appeal without sending to re board for a decision" if you decid that you no longer Want to appeal after you have read the SOC you don't have to do anything" again .. I do want to finalize this so I though that meant to get it over with the Board had to decision the appeal as it is approved in the SOC. Geesh why make everything so if, and, then or but. It like reading an algebra question.

So now what? Do we have to wait the next 60 days for them to not receive the form 9 to know that we do not disagree? Or can we not go straight to someone and say send us to accounting. We are done.

I image me the logical response based on the wording is they now want us to wait another 60 days so they will not receive the form 9.

The thing that bothers me is it says if not received we will close your case. That to me sounded like close your case and forget about the entire disagreement with his initial disability he got over two years ago.

Just making double and triple sure they aren't gonna throw everything out because we failed to send something in. Like they've done for the last six years!

Sally Dixon - The Appeal Case will be closed. It will not affect the rating decision.
