We are looking for anyone with recent experience (within 5 years or less) as a Metal Techs that can tell us what the job really does on a day to day basis. The local recruiter had zero idea about the job and the “official” descriptions are not always (if ever) aligned with the reality on the ground. He is interested in welding and fabrication type work and has a couple of years of high schools welding. Also has achieved his 1G cert, working on his 3G cert. Thanks in advance for any info.

They welders, machinist, heat treat, medal plating, and many other things. It all depends on what air frame you’re on determines what you will do the most. It’s a good one to go into for outside world trade jobs.
