My wife is active duty Army and PCS'ing to Fort Jackson soon. I'm Army National Guard. How easily would I be able to IST?

My wife is PCS'ing to Fort Jackson from Fort Leavenworth from her VTIP. I'm in the Kansas national guard, how easily would the state "let me go" due to her PCS? I'm still at MIBOLC so she'll unfortunately have to do the packing while I'm gone, but after Kansas is paying for my training, do you think they'll make me have to travel here every month or would there be a way to expedite an IST? I understand this is probably all state-dependent, too, but what was your experience or potential expectations? I appreciate your help!

Your state didn't pay for your BOLC; the Army gave your state money to send you to BOLC, unless you were ROTC, then you state didn't even touch the money.
There is only one way to expedite an IST: and that is for you to contact a gaining unit in the new state, and work with both them and your losing unit to complete the paperwork for the IST managers of both states, and also to take a proactive step in swearing in to the new state as soon as that paperwork is done so that KS can discharge you as a loss and FL can join you as a gain.
Pro tip: get the contact info for both IST managers, just in case one or both unit AGRs are slack.

If you're moving out of the area, it's just a paperwork drill. Notify your unit's Readiness NCO and they can get the ball rolling. Do it now as the paperwork could take a bit. If the IST isn't completed by the time you move, then discuss having your attendance coded as an excused absence until it is finalized.
