Admittedly I know nothing about life aboard a sub in 2016 so this isn't based on anything but 'No Thanks!' What is life like on a sub anyway?

Cramped, claustrophobic. Combined with a keen sense of being a predator, and, if you're on a boomer, an awesome sense of responsibility.

SN Greg Wright - I'm assuming "boomer" is Navy slang for "we'll nuke the crap out of you"

SSG Carlos Madden - Yep. That's what we call the SSBN's. They're not there to kill ships. They're there to kill continents.

Yes, I am certain I could. Actually you aren't chosen, you volunteer pass mental and physical exams, then sent to submarine school, then after about one year of qualification processed(successful), you are awarded your dolphins. SFC George Smith, you were living good on a SSN, most of my experience with Jarheads was transportation services during Vietnam.
