Is a SNCO's primary duty to take care of his officer or his subordinate Soldiers? I know my stance on this but, I would like to hear everyone else's input.

What does the NCO Creed say?

Only one of those (taking care of soldiers) is actually mentioned in the Creed. Your only obligation to the officer, according to the Creed, is provide him/her time to do what they need to do.

While I agree with the various nuances described by the others in this thread, I think that the Creed is pretty clear. By truly taking care of your soldiers (training them, enforcing the standards, mentoring and coaching the soldiers), the officer will have ample time to do his/her job. This, in turn, "takes care of the officer."

Just my thoughts, from my officer perspective.

Considering how the NCO Creed places the most importance on being an exceptional leader of subordinates, I'd say his primary duty is definitely to care for his Soldiers first and then his officer.

I also believe a good officer will support his SNCO's choice to place the subordinates first over his own welfare whenever possible, without sacrificing the mission of course.

I seriously question the legitimacy of this profile and it links to another profile of the same name but that person can speak English. This guy on this profile is receiving the big red BS card from me c

Why are those two mutually exclusive?
