Thank you to all who have answered my previous question, he’s another one… As a US Army retiree, should I pass, does my spouse get a portion of my Army retirement check? Or is it the same as VA compensation and spouse can potentially qualify for indemnity benefit. Thank you!

Thank you for your question Do you know if you have the Survivor Benefit Plan from the Army? https://myarmybenefits.us.army.mil/Benefit-Calculators/SBP-Premium-Calculator
You are wise to look into this! You can find more information about survivor benefits here. https://www.va.gov/pension/survivors-pension/

I really appreicate you asking the question. There is a lot of misinformation out there about survivor benefits and it really is dependent on so much. I encourage you to reach out the the survivor benefits team to see what you may qualify for. I am always impressed by Veterans who are proactive regarding the benefits for thier family. This Planning Your Legacy booklet from VA is very helpful for your final wishes. https://www.benefits.va.gov/BENEFITS/docs/VASurvivorsKit.pdf

My question is about exposure to surgical smoke plume. In surgery we are exposed to everything that is cauterized during the procedure. I have a rating for the ringing related to the electrical instruments and exposure to surgical smoke is a well know hazard from working in the OR. So I am curious if it is covered under airborne hazards?
