HOTH-2014 Memorial Day Ceremonies, Salisbury National Cemetery-Salisbury, NC
Fellow Patriots,
We have been invited to participate in Memorial Day Ceremonies Monday May 26th at Salisbury National Cemetery. Rowan County VFW and the American Red Cross will also participate.
Date: 26 MAY 14 (Monday)
Staging: 8:45 AM
Briefing: 9:00 AM
Location: Salisbury National Cemetery
KSU: 9:20 AM
After the briefing we will do a short ride through the Salisbury VA complex. We will then enter the cemetery at the Memorial Walk (same location as Wreaths Across America). We will have reserved parking just to the left of the pavilion (where we usually park for missions). The National Cemetery has requested us to be in position for the ceremony by 9:30 AM. Upon arrival at the pavilion we will establish a flag line until the end of the ceremony (approximately 11:00 AM)
Note: Those wishing to participate in the escort must be present for the briefing.
STAGING LOCATION DIRECTIONS FOR SALISBURY NATIONAL CEMETERY:
From Jake Alexander Blvd., turn onto Brenner Ave. and travel Northeast.
Turn LEFT onto Hedrick St., just 300 ft. passed the VFW post #3006 (helicopter pad).

Once on Hedrick Street,
Travel straight ahead, through the VA gates to the end of the Rd. at the
Stop Sign.
Turn LEFT at the stop sign.
Follow road as in turns to the RIGHT and goes between the maintenance
buildings.
Follow road straight ahead till it comes to the circle drive just South of the
Administrative Bldg.

Participants are requested to NOT enter through the main entrance when staging for a NCPG Mission.
PARKING: When parking the bikes around the pavilion circle or on any drive or roadway, the administration has instructed us to stay beyond the coach parking area (waste receptacle) with no more than two wide, staying to the far right and keeping a clear lane open to the left for emergency and/or other vehicles. Any excess bikes and all cages are to park behind the family/guests or in the far circle nearest the VA Medical Center.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: The National Cemetery is on Federal property; please adhere to the posted rules and regulations. Speed limit is 19 MPH, NO parking on the grass (NO exceptions), it is a weapon free zone, NO knifes or any other items that can be considered as a weapon is allowed on any Federal property or installation. Please be aware of these rules and abide by them at all times. Most of all, we need to be respectful of other burial services that are in progress upon our arrival. Keep the noise to a minimum when entering and leaving the cemetery. Leave the property in as good, if not better, a condition as it was when we arrived. Abide by the Ride Captain In Charge's (RCIC), his/her instructions and briefing.
I will be honored to serve as your RC for the ride portion of this mission. Ronnie Faggart will be heading up the flag line at the pavilion.
Thanks to All of you, For All that you do!

This is a duplicate discussion. Click below to see more on this topic.
There have been many RallyPoint members who have sought ways to recognize impactful individual service members and veterans who have passed either in combat or after their military career.
It is not practical to recognize every individual with a separate discussion, but we are happy to host those posts on this central thread.
You are invited to post responses here about individual service members and veterans that you wish to honor.
