I have been in the Army now for four years and recently re-enlisted for another 4 years. I was given the PCS option for Hawaii and was wondering if I could get some tips on what to expect when I get there from people who have been to Hawaii recently or general tips to help ease the move for myself and my family from Fort Hood to Hawaii.

LtCol (Join to see) A fair skinned brother-in-law did a tour in HI. His entire family loved the beaches. 'Junior', later paid a price for the sun exposure.

Cost of living is high; sock some money away now if you can. Save all the extra money the Army gives you that you can. Have your sponsor see about housing on post now!
