USAA has a realtor referral program and should you use them, no cost to you not do you have to finance your home with USAA, they will place a couple thousand dollars into your USAA account come closing.

I can’t speak for housing around Carson. There are a lot of retirees in Briargate and Monument area. Should you want to live further north, I’d recommend Cordera, Flying Horse, Wolf Ranch...all a bit more expensive and further from Carson.

One thing to consider, have your realtor give honest assessment of area more likely to have frequent and significant hail storms. From my observation and that’s all it is, further south and east the hail seems larger and more frequent. Whatever temporary housing you get, I suggest you also have a garage. Be prepared for higher auto and home insurance costs due to hail, as well as higher deductibles.

Good luck and welcome to the Springs, great location and seasonal weather, albeit I could do without the hail.

Up north in the BriarGate area is real expensive. Fountain is nice too, but coming into Gate 20 can be a nightmare for PT.

Check out this realtor, Greg Luczak.

If you want to be close to the airfield check Fountain, CO. It's about 15 min from the airfield. Most of the Springs is nice but it is growing fast so homes have been going up in price since I moved here in 2016. If you have any questions let me know.
