PCSing to Ft Hood in May, haven’t heard much about my new unit or what it’s like over there. Anyone know anything or heard anything about 96th Transportation? Anything helps, just wanna get a general idea because I’m sure it will be far different from my unit here at Schofield Barracks. Thanks!

Your leaving light infantry for heavy mech, meaning they depend on their vehicle ALOT more than what you’re use too. It’s going to be night and day for you, just know that

I can't speak for an MP line company. But I can speak for an MI company within the CAV. Going off my experience, I wouldn't call it fast pace. "Hurry up and wait," is what you're in for.

Fort Hood is not bad at all but take this 2LT’s opinion with grain of salt. Expect the slant of the guns/tanks/bradleys to take precedence over everything else.

I'd also try posting this on the unit page: https://www.rallypoint.com/units/96th-transpo-96th-transportation-company-180th-transportation-battalion-fort-hood-tx

Different? It will be night and day between Schofield and the Hood SGT. Be prepared to do the grunt work now. God Bless.

I know nothing about that unit but I was stationed there from 2011-2013. I can any any questions about Fort Hood, in general. I was an MP, so I've seen it all.
