I'll be PCS'ing there soon, just looking for some insight/experience/suggestions as I haven't heard anything from my sponsor or lack thereof.  Thanks in advance!

You can also check out the Daegu RallyPoint page... looks like there are both Army and Air Force folks there that you can connect with...

Absolutely! Thanks for the input Sir, I'm trying to make the transition as easy as possible for my wife. This will be our first OCONUS PCS in the seven years we've been married.

SGT(P) Bell,
I am currently in Seoul, but the best advise is to checkout the websites. http://daegu.korea.army.mil/

Facebook is used a lot in Korea so like the facebook page as well.

Best of luck!

Great!! Did you type your unit in the right hand side??  if not, do that and connect with one of your unit's guys.....

Also, connect with their facebook page/ USAG Daegu should have their own page.  Im in Yongsan, but I can tell you its SNOWY and FREEZING here.  12 degrees last week here.

But I was the same way SGT Bell, hadn't heard from my sponsor, so I clicked the unit, connect with 2 people and received a plethora of information, and it was all exactly what I wanted and needed.  Good luck and see ya soon

I have in fact checked out the unit, there's only a couple people that are linked into it unfortunately. I've heard the cold isn't necessarily unbearable over there, it's more about the wind. We shall see! I'm not a big cold weather fan.

Thank you all so much for the information! I was finally able to pinpoint Camp Walker/George on a map and have had a much easier time scouting out apartments. As usual, I'm taking matters into my own hands, but hey, that's what makes it fun right? Thanks again!

Was there in the 90s, so I am sure there have been major changes in the last 15+ years, but it is a beautiful country, enjoy your tour. Stay safe.

Definitely, I have heard nothing but praise for the Daegu area and that puts my mind at ease no matter how many unanswered questions I may have. Thanks SFC Baber.

I just wrote a book and published it in FEB 2016 about Korea. I have 7 years there on tours from 1987 to my personal trip in OCT 2015. It is an ebook on Amazon.
