In the last 14 years the number of Vets has gone down by 17%.
During the same period the number of VA enrolled has gone up by 178%!
Of this, Vets rose 151% and non-Vets rose 199%, giving a total patient rise of 154%

So now it looks like the money spigot gets another twist.

Duct tape fix
It is not the budget I am worried about. It is the treatment of those under the care of the VA that I worry about. All the money in the world can't fix stupid. That requires a replacement part.

SSG (Join to see) I would upvote that last comment about votes several times if I could. You nailed it with that statement. The only time politicians look down to see who their stepping on is during election season.
