My experience with them is that they strive to listen and do a good job especially with the more elderly patients. Perhaps even better than some doctors. What do you think?

We had this Doc here in Okinawa a few years back, that no matter what ailment you came to see him with, if you were a smoker, he said smoking caused your problem!
SM: Doc, my leg fell off!!!
DOC: Do you smoke?
SM: Yeah....
DOC: Well, that's why! Get back to work!

Usually in my appointments with the Nephrologist I see a PA. She is very knowledgeable, caring, and efficient. I can ask her about medications other doctors prescribe and she can tell me any adverse reactions they may cause.

SSgt James Stanley - Same with mine. She seems to care and that means a lot to me really.

The only PA I ever had that knew the difference between their ass and a whole in the ground was a 18D turned officer and PA.
The rest really were horrible and could have given a crap less!

They are just fine for primary care/family practice "stuff" which is what most medical care is. Anything more complicated gets referred to a MD/DO it's a good system that works. PA's have enough training and are supervised by physicians so the patient is not in any danger.

Sounds like you have some good ones in your area Scott but around here they all seem to have this Superiority complex and swelled head syndrome. They refuse to listen to their patients and do as they please even if the patient has specialists that the PA should be cooperating with. I know one PA that is a pompous "better than thou" jerk and is going to be finding that out today. This man has messed with someone I care about for the last time and will be dealing with me today. PA's need to be monitored more in our area because some in this area have their own practice.

SrA Rex Brown - I compliment the staff including the nurses who do NOT get the credit they deserve!
