I remember when I was in and we had a chance to take a break, the PL would say, "if you got'em, smoke'em", by making pot legal, what will he say now, "ok, us do a number, get stoned, and impede our judgement"?

Pot is still illegal for military members. Regardless of what the state law is you smoke it your done. Same as those in Europe who go to Netherlands and partake of the leafy goodness.

I don't believe we should make pot legal in the military. We need our troops to think clearly, be combat ready, and make important decisions. There's enough bad choices made without adding pot to the mix

The only problem with weed is that it can't be tested on the spot like alcohol. It's easier to conceal that you're high as opposed to being drunk. You can't have soldiers on duty high because of obvious reasons.

But what about in their off time? Weed is cheaper than booze, is MUCH less toxic and dangerous. And I don't hear about people getting high and beating their wives/ girlfriends or getting arrested in public for obscene behavior. Most of the time its just chillaxing and enjoying yourself.

My opinion: If they could find away to test if someone is high on the spot, let soldiers smoke.

Those changes listed in the study don't hold a candle to alcohol. Chronic disease, heart attack, stroke, cancer, crippling addiction, high blood pressure, liver disease, etc. And that's just the long term, short term is death/ legal problems due to reckless use. Compare that to small changes in the brain.
