Looking from someone with experience please, no educated guesses. Was told only like 12/70 make selection and want to do whatever it takes to be part of that 12. Thank you for any experience based information provided!

I attended selection in 2012 for PSYOPS, at the time the course was fairly new and things probably have changed since then. First thing, the APFT knocked out several candidates due to the push ups. You must be able to do the equivalent to 70 points in the 18 to 21 age group, PU must be perfect as well as the sit ups. Your grader will NOT tell you the correct number of repetions untill you are back in the bus. You are a candidate with a roster number, your fellow candidates the same. Take all commands from the board, timelines are very critical. Learn to ruck with 60lbs, you will do lots of movement of foot. Your writing ability should be strong, if you do not know how write with proper grammar, well you might not make the cut. Always use tact and be diligent in all tasks. Learn how to tie military knots, make sure your land nav skills are excellent. Have absolutely every item in packing list as described in the packet. You are being graded at all times, even when you think you are not. It is not a gentleman's course, team work and communication play a very critical role as well. Good luck.

Your not that far away. Why not train hard until then and then go for it. Yeah, I've got it, PSYOPS has a job, but within the Special Operations community you will not be Special, unless you've go a long tab.

Curious, but did you ever attend selection and if so, how did you fair out?!
