I'm not overly bothered by this. From what I've been able to quickly find on the web, there have only been a handful of similar leak cases, and most of the sentences are only a few years. His/her sentence was already an extreme outlier (35 years), and it still will be an outlier after the commutation (7 years). It's not like Manning was pardoned.

Sgt Jamie Grippin - I think you are mixing him up with Edward Snowden. This guy did it because he was unhappy with the Army.

SGT Alfredo Alcazar - I just loved how the LGBT champions turned his conviction into one of their causes. The guy wasn't put in prison for being gay, it was for engaging in espionage.

Sgt Joseph Baker - You are absolutely right and I agree with you. Anyway as long as he/she get a dishonorable discharge it's ok if Barack commute his/her sentence.

To be released in 5 months? OH FFS!!!! Sparky better have a damn plane ticket to a hole in the wall third world country and be taken right to the airport.....because there is no place in this country he will be safe. As soon as some crazy civilian and/or veteran finds out where he lives.....not going to be pretty.

Confused? It is also defined as mental illness. What did its kind do before medical technology allowed gender reassignment ? They just lived as they were ! Ridiculous !

He does not deserve the freedom to enjoy a life as a citizen of the United States of America. If it were in my power and he did indeed go free I would see to it that he was exiled for life in Iraq of Afghanistan.
