Our awesome president goes way over his time limit to speak. The stakes are high.

Listen to our president. Then listen to any of the GOP candidates to replace him.

Friendly wager, I will bet you 1 dollar the GOP loses. Keep shooting themselves in the foot and then we have to settle for a Democrat.

Since 1900, it is Democrats who have moved the country forward and Republicans who have held it back.
You can go further back than that, the details can confuse. The Republican Party was founded to support the Union as the divine right of kings tried to shake it to pieces. The first Republican presidential candidate ran in 1856. One wing of that party was called the Black Republicans. None of them were black. They favored emancipation.
That was a very -liberal- position.
It is -Liberals- who have moved the country forward and -conservatives- who typified what Lincoln said:
"That is the real issue. That is the issue that will continue in this country when these poor tongues of Judge Douglas and myself shall be silent. It is the eternal struggle between these two principles -- right and wrong -- throughout the world. They are the two principles that have stood face to face from the beginning of time, and will ever continue to struggle. The one is the common right of humanity and the other the divine right of kings. It is the same principle in whatever shape it develops itself. It is the same spirit that says, 'You work and toil and earn bread, and I'll eat it.' No matter in what shape it comes, whether from the mouth of a king who seeks to bestride the people of his own nation and live by the fruit of their labor, or from one race of men as an apology for enslaving another race, it is the same tyrannical principle."
--October 15, 1858 Debate at Alton
We are confronted by the same issue today. That same tyrannical principle. It is the same spirit that says, 'You work and toil and earn bread, and I'll eat it.' The Rethugs -today- having become the Robber Barons of the late 19th century, want you to go meekly into the poverty, and the low wages and bad health that the divine right of kings thinks is best for you and your children.

Capt Walter Miller So what is new? POTUS is the embodiment of all those ideals and attitudes we do not approve of.
Now, he is demonstrating to the world, what a mistake the American voters made 2 times !
