Prior Service heading off to AIT with no uniforms. How do I go about getting my uniforms before AIT?

I’m heading back in active duty and ship off to AIT soon. I’m not going to BCT due to me being prior service. I have none of my old uniforms from my first term. How do I get my uniforms and other things that I’m going to need? I don’t want to get hemmed up heading off to AIT without the things that are essential and seem unprepared?

You'll show up with no uniforms. You won't be the only one. You'll be given something from MEPS authorizing you to draw your initial issue from clothing and sales. Unless you haven't finished your MSO, in which case you were required to retain them and would have to pay out of pocket

The army changes uniforms more often than some soldiers change their underwear, so whatever you had probably past wear out date anyhow.

As true as that is Sir, I only got out a year ago right after the change got authorized from the ACU’s to OCP’s.

You will be authorized another issue when you get to your training duty station.

Just here to mention my experience with this. Upon re-entry I was given orders to ship directly to my new MOS AIT. I was given a plane ticket from MEPS to Fort Lee with orders and personal belongings in hand. I paid for my shuttle to the post from the airport. There was no reception when I got there. I reported directly to my gaining unit and company barracks. Everyone in this company was either prior service with a break in service or had re-enlisted for a new MOS. Some soldiers were not even MOS-Qualified but somehow re-entered as prior service. Also some of them come from other branches...such as Marines and even Air Force.
No prior service with break in service arrived with uniforms. It took us about THREE MONTHS to get uniforms for some soldiers. They actually did some PT and even went to the schoolhouse in their civilian attire. Eventually they all got uniforms however and that's that. Also make sure you get your full issue BEFORE leaving AIT or you could have a hard time when you get to your unit if supply doesn't know how to properly submit the required paperwork for issuing clothing.
I'm sure there's much more that you're curious about so feel free to ask. Remember, every unit is different and your experience may vary. And most definitely keep in mind that you are returning to TRADOC and TRADOC is what it is lol enjoy the journey and good luck!

You will likely process through a reception area where you will do CIIP and CIF draw. Check with MEPS before you ship.

I went straight from MEPS to AIt as well, your command will right a memo that allows you to go get intital issue for the OCPS, PT stuff, a PT Belt( ours was orange) and ASUs because you will be a MOS-T, good luck at AIT SGT

You don't and really there is no need to. Likely you are coming into a class with prior service so there will be several of you. You will report to MEPS where they will cut your final orders and put you on a plane or bus for your AIT location. Part of your orders will state you need an initial issue of clothing and alterations. You will arrive at reception and then be given your chit along with the clothing list to take to clothing sales. You draw your allotment, and have them alter your garments. You carry it all back to reception barracks and done and a few days later you report to class.

You'll go to a reception BN prior to training start, where you get issued new uniforms as needed as they process you back in.
