Is it possible to bypass the promotion list to obtain your e-5 if you’ve completed BLC and you’re told by your LT and readiness that they are going to promote you as long as your paperwork is in?

Kinda sorta but not really. You could be made a CPL or an Acting Sergeant...where you wear the stripes but still get paid as an E-4.

The likelihood of that happening back in Garrison is 0%. It is a DA requirement to have completed the appropriate PME (professional military education) that the grade requires. However, if you are deployed there are two options in lieu of completing the PME. Battlefield, you have to be MTOEd in the grade in which you are being recommended for promotion, and then PME waiver, you have to meet a minimum promotion point requirement submitted by HRC, if you meet that and they send your packet up you can be promoted if approved my HRC. I was promoted on deployment to SSG without ALC, with a PME waiver at the end of 2018.

You can be automatically promotable and put on the MLI list if you meet the TIG and TIS requirements. If you are fully qualified after being listen then you MUST go to BLC. As far as talking about substandard leadership please keep it off this forum. I always say, getting to BLC is the hardest part about it. Keep your head up and keep bringing up career progression to your leadership. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Curious on the substandard leadership comment when it’s true. It’s hard to follow those whom fail to attempt to progress their soldiers, do whatever they can to sham and are no where to be found when needed or called upon.

SGT (Join to see) yes. As long as you are promotable and all other requirements are met you will be promoted. Make sure you check the by name list monthly.
