What are the prons and cons for either as a career path.

SPC (Join to see) Depends are you active or one of the reserve components. Civil Aafairs has many units in the Reserve side Psyops is mostly active. Civil Affairs you do more of earning the hearts and minds while Psyops is researching the enemy and developing techniques to erode the will to fight. Depends on your interest but Civil Affairs travels alot though.

Hearts and minds is not a thing, please stop using that phrase and encourage others to stop as well.
CA does not win the hearts and minds. It does not matter if the people like the US, they just need to change what they're doing- a Desired Effect.
CA and PO both work to influence the population to change - it is the manner of conducting that influence that distinguishes the Regiments - either through Information Operations, or through Governance.
