We as servicemembers often get thanked for our service. Every time this happens to me I can't help but feel awkward. Anybody else feel this way? What is the proper response in this situation, if that even exists. I am curious as to how other people handle this situation.

The right response is to be appreciative that they noticed just to be polite. I like to know we have the support because sometimes it feels like people forget about us
