Kakao is very popular here in Korea and used to put out information by the mass instead of calling each individual. This is a free app and in my opinion very useful to save time. What are your thoughts of putting information out this way after everyone has been released for the day or over the weekend. Soldiers would you rather receive the phone call and get bothered on the weekend or weekday or even have to come in for a formation to receive information. What are your thoughts on using Kakao instead? Is Kakao used in the states?

I have always used Tango or Viber when overseas.  Does this Kakao differ from those apps?
I don't mind text messaging for communicating information, however, you have to receive a message back from them confirming or else you do not have positive communication with that Soldier.

Never used Tango or Viber yet. I require a message back if I use it and if I dont get one back I call them.

Text messages cost money and Soldiers sometimes have limited text especially here in Korea. Kakao messages also let you know when the message was read unlike text messages.
